LEE TUCKER
Project Leader & Head of Recruitment

Lee is a Senior Lecturer in Sport Development and Sport & Social Sciences at Leeds Beckett University who has been given time away from his role in Higher Education to work as Project Leader and Head of Recruitment at the V9 Academy.

He has experience of playing football at various levels, starting out as a young professional with Middlesbrough FC before moving on to Darlington. Similar to Jamie Vardy, Lee suffered setbacks getting released from both clubs therefore having great empathy with many of the players looking to get back into the professional arena through the V9 Academy.

Lee had a brief spell playing professionally in Singapore whilst he also played at steps 7-9 with Bishop Auckland, Spennymoor Town and Guisborough Town. He coached in Middlesbrough FC’s highly regarded Academy between 1995 and 2002 working with future professionals such as Stewart Downing, Tony McMahon, James Morrison and David Murphy.

Lee has continued his involvement in football helping to manage various non-league teams in the North East alongside his full time role at Leeds Beckett. Lee will be coordinating our recruitment and five day programme through working alongside our talented scouts and coaching staff.
